Three Weeks!
Henry's three weeks old today. Tomorrow will be two weeks since we took him home. For me, time slowed down during that first week in the hospital, but has certainly sped up since then. The most amazing thing is how quickly our experience has shifted from the uncertainty in the hospital to "eat, sleep, poop," and for me, "try to work a little."
This routine was interrupted earlier this week by our day trip to Madison for surgical follow-ups at the children's hospital. Henry's echo looked great and our hungry boy weighed in at a solid 8 pounds (up 17 ounces from birth!). They also removed his stitches and the steri-strips on his incision. Everything is healing up nicely and will appreciate the end of daily dressing changes. And while he might still not care much for sleeping in his bassinet for long stretches, he does sleep like a champ in the car, snoozing almost the entire trip both ways.
